Staff are currently planning services for our opening in a spectacular library building designed by renowned architect Rem Koolhaas.
The library will be offering state of the art facilities, technologies and services that any Qatar resident may use. Included in our facilities will be public computer workstations, digital media production facilities, a variety of collaborative and individual learning spaces, a Children's Library, performance spaces, a café and more.
Qatar National Library (QNL) will officially open its new state-of-the-art building to the public on November 7, giving residents access to nearly one million books, periodicals, and special collections, including its famed Heritage Collection.
Qatar National Library (QNL) and the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to develop, enhance and make available digitized cultural heritage content through the Digital Library of the Middle East (DLME).
