Qatar National Library and the National Library and Archives of the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further their collaboration in several areas of mutual interest. The signing took place at Qatar National Library, and was attended by senior members from both institutions.
The agreement will pave the way toward enhancing scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation, including sharing of expertise, and exchange of relevant library materials.
“We are delighted to start this collaboration with the National Library and Archives of Iran. The agreement will allow us to advance library research and share best practices in the field of information services. We look forward to exploring immediate areas on which we can cooperate and seeing the outcomes of this agreement in the near future,” said Dr. Stuart Hamilton, Deputy Executive Director of International Relations and Communications at Qatar National Library.
The agreement, which was signed on behalf of the Library by Dr. Hamilton, and Ashraf Boroujerdi, Head of the National Library and Archives of Iran, will also allow both institutions to hold joint seminars, conferences, and exhibitions.
