QNL will aim to cover the full fee of the book where possible, depending on the availability of funds.
Higher priority will be given to books with more Qatar-affiliated authors. |
Author and Editor Eligibility |
- In the case of monographs, the author must be affiliated with a Qatar-based institution and this affiliation must be stated in the published book.
- In the case of edited volumes,
- at least half of the volume editors must be affiliated with a Qatar-based institution, and this affiliation must be stated in the published book;
- some of the chapters' lead authors must be affiliated with a Qatar-based institution, and this affiliation must be stated in the published book.
- Eligible volume editor(s) must contribute to one (or more) self-written chapter(s) in the book.
- • Eligible monograph authors or volume editors may only qualify for funding of one book publication per calendar year.

Book Eligibility |
- Eligible books under this agreement are Springer Nature monographs and edited volumes published in one of the imprints of the Springer Nature Group (Springer, Palgrave Macmillan, Apress, Adis, JB Metzler).
- Eligible books in this agreement should consist of peer-reviewed research content and should be editorially accepted books by Eligible Authors/Editors, with an acceptance date after January 1st, 2024. For clarity: Already published books are not eligible and are not covered by this Agreement.

Other Funding Requirements

- QNL will only support books with the CC-BY 4.0 license.
- QNL shall review all book publishing agreements as part of the process to ensure good licensing practices.
- Funded books shall include an acknowledgment statement of funding with precise wording provided by QNL (Open Access funding provided by the Qatar National Library.)
