An informative workshop at Qatar National Library highlighted the latest cybersecurity trends worldwide and how to easily identify cybercrimes.
The workshop, held on 14 October in cooperation with the Economic and Cyber Crime Combating Department of the Ministry of Interior, also shed light on Qatar’s cybercrime laws.
Experts from Qatar’s Ministry of Interior discussed the dangers of cybercrimes, the common behaviors and actions that could lead to legal accountability, how to report cybercrimes, and the role of the authorities in preventing and prosecuting them.
Omran Mohammed, who attended the event, said: “Online safety is very important to all of us as we spend considerable amount of time on the internet, so it is important that we know the cybercrime law in Qatar. The lecture today was very insightful and informative, as are all events presented at the Library.”
Another participant, Zeynab Ali, said: “We are connected at all times through the web to communicate with our relatives, exchange emails and other important information. We need to know and follow the cybercrime laws and understand how to deal with suspicious activities online. I am thankful to the Library for organizing this event.”
