Sarah Champa, Founder of Maktaba, Qatar
Maktaba, a personal initiative, was the first full-service, non-profit children’s lending library in Qatar, and opened to the public in 2015.
Maktaba inspires children of all ages to embrace their natural curiosity and fall in love with reading, learning and creativity. Over two floors and garden areas, Maktaba encourages imagination to come to life through books, play and thoughtfully conceived programming. The library also serves the community through outreach programs and humanitarian initiatives.
Sarah Champa has a BA in Comparative Literature and Modern European History from The American University of Paris and an MsC in Cultural Sociology from The London School of Economics.
