Qatar National Library and the Qatari Authors’ Forum have signed a Memorandum of Understanding as a framework to identify future projects in areas of common scientific, technical and research interests.
The partnership agreement was signed by Dr. Sohair Wastawy, Executive Director of Qatar National Library, and Mrs. Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi, Director of the Forum, an initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
“We are delighted to sign this agreement with the Qatari Authors’ Forum, given our shared commitment to promote and preserve the cultural heritage of Qatar. It is an excellent opportunity for the Library to strengthen our relationship with influential Qatari authors and help develop aspiring local writers,” said Dr. Wastawy. “The Library continues to strive to spread knowledge, and through such partnerships, we are able to enrich our cultural and literary initiatives and promote creativity and innovation by engaging the broader community.”
“The signing of the agreement with Qatar National Library is an added value to the forum, with the Library being a place for authors to start their reading and research journeys that eventually result in new books. This partnership will enable us to work together to serve authors and writers in Qatar by offering them various projects and programs, " said Mrs. Al Hammadi.
"Thanks to the decision of the Minister of Culture and Sports to establish the Qatari Authors’ Forum, we are now able to work on many partnerships to support authors and contribute to advancing our ongoing cultural movement."
As part of the agreement, both institutions will work together within a broad framework to identify a range of future projects to advance their common research and literary interests and better serve the public through their respective services.
