To help parents develop childcare skills that raise healthy minds today and responsible citizens tomorrow, Qatar National Library is holding a virtual lecture on this vital topic on Saturday, 30 January 2021.
Aptly titled “Raising Children,” the event will be delivered by Dr. Mamoun Mobayed, Director of the Treatment and Rehabilitation Department at the Behavioral Healthcare Center, who will coach parents on how to navigate the ups and downs of parenting and master what many deem the hardest job in the world.
Dr. Mobayed will draw on his experience as a leading psychiatrist and author of several parenting books. The lecture, which will be delivered in Arabic, revolves around the 10 core principles of parenting and covers the most common pitfalls that parents can fall victim to.
Commenting on the event, Maram A. Al Mahmoud, Head of the Children’s Library at Qatar National Library, said:
“It has long been said that the hardest job in the world is to be a successful parent. As every mother and father knows, the role is akin to riding a rollercoaster, as ups and downs are commonplace every single day, no matter the age of the child. This lecture is a chance for parents to reexamine their relationship with their children and discover some important child-raising skills that can help them and their youngsters on their incredibly special journey together.”
The virtual lecture is expected to draw a diverse group of attendees including parents, educators and researchers in the field. More information on the event is available on the Library’s website at Raising Children (qnl.qa).
