Qatar has been a known place on European maps for around 2,000 years and was even represented as a peninsula on some 16th-century maps, but then disappeared completely as a peninsula for over 200 years until it reemerged in the early 19th century. This talk will discuss this history and how many of these maps can provide us information about the history of Qatar that is not available to us from other sources.

Have fun editing articles and topics on Wikipedia that are related to Qatar, including history, geography and more. We'll have an introductory presentation on how to edit pages on Wikipedia and the main principles of editing Wikipedia.

In this program, we will explore the poetic diwan of Sheikh Jassim, the Founder of Qatar, and the different themes that prevail in his poems, including religion, politics, courage and power. 

Each peoples' cuisine reflects its traditions and social and cultural influences, so every country has its own national dishes. Join us for an Instagram Live cooking demonstration with Rasha Isbeetan, who will show us how to create chicken kabsa, a traditional Qatari dish, in celebration of Qatar National Day.

We invite children and young adults ages 7 to 18 to share with us their photos of the most beautiful landmarks in Qatar.

In this lecture, we will cover the efforts that Qatar is undertaking to protect and maintain the Arabic language. We'll shed the light on the different aspects that the state upholds to maintain Arabic as its official language, including initiatives in the educational, media and legal sectors, as well as other key areas.
