Author and artist Eric Broug will show what the principles are that have enabled 1,400 years of design excellence and innovation. Poetry Night was created by the Institute of the Arab World in 2016 to "summon, for one night, poetry and celebrate the beauty of the word in memory of the attacks in Paris in November 2015." Last year, the event was celebrated simultaneously in eight Arab cities: Doha, Jeddah, Fez, Khartoum, Riyadh, Tunis, Beirut and Algiers.

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 am to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or to borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. The Novation Launchkey Mini is an easy-to-use MIDI keyboard controller that enables you to quickly produce electronic music, hip-hop and other genres. You'll get a chance to try out the Launchkey Mini and lay down some tracks of your own.
