Dr. Nabhan Al-Harassi is Associate Professor of Information Studies and Dean of the College of Arts and Social Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman, and President of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information. He holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, and an MA from Curtin University, Australia.
Dr. Al-Harassi held various leadership positions including the head of the Omani Research Repository Project, that aims to collect Omani intellectual production. Special library Association/Arabian Gulf Chapter, Al-Harassi was also the founder of the Omani Library Association. Among his interests of research are knowledge sharing, cooperation between libraries, digital transformation, and big data. During his career, Al-Harassi supervised several doctoral and master's students in the field of libraries and information.
