Libraries’ Roadmap to Digital Dexterity and Proficiency

 4 & 6 March 2024

 

This year's edition of the Libraries Lead Forum is held in cooperation with the 27th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Special Libraries Association - Arabian Gulf Chapter (SLA-AGC). It consists of two parts; a pre-Conference workshop and a special session within the SLA-AGC conference.

 

Pre-Conference Workshop, 4 March 2024: “Unlocking Digital Competence in the Age of AI: Mastering Essential Skills and Strategies for Librarians” 

Location and Format: In person, Qatar National Library, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Digital and AI competence is a prerequisite in an ever-evolving information landscape. Whether you're a seasoned librarian or just starting your career, this workshop is tailored to equip librarians and related professionals with the essential knowledge and digital skills necessary to thrive in the digital age to better enhance library services and the communities they serve.

Special Session, 6 March 2024: “Libraries’ Roadmap to Digital Dexterity and Proficiency”

Location and Format: In person, SLA-AG Conference at Mondrian Doha Hotel, 2:00 - 4:00PM

The focus of this year’s theme is on positioning libraries as innovative, technologically advanced institutions that not only preserve traditional values but also lead in the digital era, ensuring equitable access to information, cutting‐edge resources and services, and fostering digitally literate and empowered communities. 

At this session, expert panelists will each present on focused topics related to the forum’s theme and then participate in a 60‐minute panel discussion and Q&A.

  • Artificial Intelligence and Inclusivity: Advancing Accessibility Initiatives” – Dr. Achraf Othman, Head of ICT Accessibility Research and Innovation, MADA Center
