Katia Medawar serves as the Director of Research and Learning at Qatar National Library. With a master’s degree in librarianship from Aberystwyth University in Wales, Katia has built a long career in librarianship across several prestigious institutions.
Starting as an automation librarian and later working as an interlibrary loan librarian at the American University of Beirut, Katia continued her journey at the Institut Pasteur Library in Paris. For the past 14 years, Katia has been based in Qatar, where she served as the head of public services at Qatar University Library before joining Qatar National Library.
With extensive experience in public services, resource sharing and library automation, Katia is passionate about advancing research, learning and community engagement. Her commitment to innovative library programs and services continues to inspire and enrich the communities she serves.
