Ms. Tan Huism joined Qatar National Library as Executive Director in September 2021. Under her leadership, the Library has recorded its highest number of visitors since opening, launched its first mobile application, and developed Manara – Qatar Research Repository, in addition to initiating its first steps in contemporary collecting.
Before joining QNL, Ms. Huism served as Senior Director of the Archives and Libraries Group at Singapore’s National Library Board, while also holding the position of Director of the National Library of Singapore. Prior to her work in the library sector, she spent over 18 years in the museum field at the Asian Civilizations Museum in Singapore. She currently serves as Secretary of the IFLA National Libraries Section.
