Dr. Clara Chu is Director of the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs and Mortenson Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Chu trains/teaches, presents, consults and publishes worldwide in English and Spanish on library and information science (LIS) education, diversity, equity and inclusion in LIS, strategic planning, research methods, promotion of libraries, library trends, and emerging technologies among other topics. She is co-editor of the journal Library Trends, an active professional association leader, and co-chair of the IFLA Building Strong LIS Education Working Group, co-authoring the new “IFLA Guidelines for Professional LIS Education Programs”, recently endorsed by the IFLA Professional Council.
