Qatar Foundation Library to Host Professional Development Workshop for Librarians

The Qatar Foundation Library will host a “Best Practices in Library Services: Customer Service and Supervisory Skills” workshop on Sunday, 22 April 2012 at the Student Center. The morning session will focus on providing quality customer service to not only external users, but also to internal customers, meaning other library departments and staff. The afternoon session will highlight best practices in library supervisory skills, and will be useful to current supervisors as well as to those who aspire to become managers.

The speaker for this workshop is Elizabeth Rumple, the Deputy Director of the Greene County Public Library in Ohio, U.S. Ms. Rumple is a well-recognized library trainer and presenter in the U.S. with many years of experience in library HR, public administration, and staff development. The trainings she will be providing are directly relevant to the further development of library culture in Qatar, and are based on American Library Association’s competencies for professional librarians.

This workshop will be offered in English, and is open to all librarians in Qatar. Registration is limited.
