Qatar National Library and Childhood Cultural Center Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Qatar National Library (QNL), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Childhood Cultural Center (CCC) on 24 August 2016. The agreement was signed by Dr Claudia Lux, Project Director of QNL, and Abdullah Hamed Al-Mulla, Director of Public Relations and Communication, CCC.
 
The partnership is built on the shared objective of developing a love for books and reading in the country. As part of the increased cooperation between the two entities, joint activities and events are being planned, such as awareness sessions, activities to help children acquire reading habits, a number of workshops, contests and other relevant programs. These programs aim to develop skills such as critical thinking, and creativity among Qatar’s youth.
 
The MoU included various aspects to ensure maximum advantages for the target audience. Activities will be organized to emphasize the importance of books for children, and information sessions will be held for parents. This will enable the youth to understand their roles and responsibilities in the society, and make them contributing citizens of the future.
 
Abdullah Hamed Al- Mulla, Director of, Public Relations and Communication, said “We are proud to partner with such an entity, which shares our vision for developing and promoting a reading culture in Qatar. We believe together we can make a significant impact.”
He added “The agreement is part of ongoing awareness, training efforts and activities aiming to enhance reading habits adopted by the center since its establishment in 2002.”
 
Dr Claudia Lux, Project Director of, QNL said: “This partnership will further enhance our commitment to unlock human potential, in line with QF’s goals, and the Qatar National Vision 2030. QNL’s vision is to spread knowledge, nurture imagination, cultivate creativity, and preserve the nation’s heritage for the future,”
 
“We are delighted to sign this partnership working alongside the Childhood Cultural Center, we hope to cultivate a culture of reading and in turn, assist in the overall development of the youth.” She added.
