Qatar National Library recently participated at Qatar University’s Reading Week, which brought together members of the academic community, authors, and readers to celebrate World Book Day 2019. The week-long activity was held from 21 to 23 April under the theme, “Reading is Life”.
The Library showcased its services through a portable library booth, where librarians and staff were present to interact with visitors and share information on its books, journals and multimedia collections, as well as its vast online resources.
As part of the Reading Week, the Library launched its first portable library storytelling activity for students at the Early Childhood Center.
"Qatar National Library has encouraged me to complete my studies and spend as much time as possible in the Library to take advantage of the rich resources available," said Dana Al Marri, a Qatar University student.
"We are delighted to have the Qatar National Library and its presence at Qatar University. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about their services and their participation has encouraged many to register as members," said Sarah Al Nuaimi, a psychology student.
"The talks by students and professors about the librarianship profession during Qatar University Reading Week filled me with pride in the role played by my Library through its various activities and services," said Eman Al-Shammari, an information librarian at Qatar National Library.
