Learn about the Life of Prophet Mohammed

Qatar National Library presented the first in its “Islamic Stories” series on 8 May 2019, which depict the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions.

The event was part of the Library’s theme of faith during May, which also sees the start of Ramadan.

Exploring the stories about early Muslims, the event highlighted the importance of studying the biography of the Prophet, or the Sira, during the month of Ramadan, in order to learn from the examples of his life.

Dana Al Meer, Information Services Librarian at the Library, said: “Through this event, the Library hopes to bring to life important teachings that remind our youth of the important aspects of their faith. During the Holy Month, we also present many other such opportunities for the community to reflect on faith, in keeping to promote the strengthening and nourishment of the human spirit.”

Mohammed Shiyam, who attended the event with his two children and wife, said: “I bring my kids here often to the Library to attend events, read books and engage with other children. The events here at the Library during Ramadan are very unique and interesting, which help my children learn new ideas and socialize with kids from the community.”
