Join us online to get to know the amazing Sira (biography) of the life of the messenger, Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him], the last of the prophets. 

Test your knowledge about Ramadan! All young adults are welcome to join an online trivia contest through Microsoft Teams and the Kahoot! app. Participants will need to have two devices (computer or phone) in order to join. The top three winners from each session will get a prize from the Library. 

In this session, participants can recite the Qur’an from manuscripts that were used by the tābi‘ūn and early Muslims who lived in the first and second Hijri centuries and afterward. Those manuscripts moved between libraries and collections over hundreds of years and were read by worshipers in the Two Holy Mosques and the mosques of Damascus, Baghdad, Cordoba and Cairo.

The topic of the environment is central to the sustainable development of Qatar and the world. Join us for this program in which our librarians will show you the online resources related to energy and environmental science that you can access with your Library membership.

What is codicology and manuscript studies? Which subjects are most studied in the field? What are the latest developments in studying the Islamic manuscript culture? What are the current resources and research literature?These and many other questions about the Islamic manuscript culture are in the heart of a lecture series organized jointly by Qatar National Library and the Center for Manuscript Studies at Fatih Sultan Mehmed Waqf University in Istanbul. The talks will be held monthly by renowned international experts in Islamic codicology and manuscript studies, addressing scholars and the general audience alike. 

Garangao is one of the most prominent traditions deeply rooted in Qatari folklore. It’s a folk celebration passing down from parents and grandparents. According to traditions, it includes mixed treats with different goodies, sweets and nuts. Join us to learn about how to prepare the goodies of Garangao. Have you ever wondered if your child’s behavior is due to sensory issues? In this session, parents and caregivers will be introduced to different types of sensory difficulties and the difference between behavioral challenges and sensory challenges. The session will be presented by Bassam Adel Hamad, Occupational Therapist at Qatar Foundation Learning Center (TLC).
