Ramadan Trivia for Young Adults

Test your knowledge about Ramadan! All young adults are welcome to join an online trivia contest through Microsoft Teams and the Kahoot! app. Participants will need to have two devices (computer or phone) in order to join. The top three winners from each session will get a prize from the Library. 
Recitation Session of Early Qur’anic Manuscripts

In this session, participants can recite the Qur’an from manuscripts that were used by the tābi‘ūn and early Muslims who lived in the first and second Hijri centuries and afterward. Those manuscripts moved between libraries and collections over hundreds of years and were read by worshipers in the Two Holy Mosques and the mosques of Damascus, Baghdad, Cordoba and Cairo.

What is codicology and manuscript studies? Which subjects are most studied in the field? What are the latest developments in studying the Islamic manuscript culture? What are the current resources and research literature?These and many other questions about the Islamic manuscript culture are in the heart of a lecture series organized jointly by Qatar National Library and the Center for Manuscript Studies at Fatih Sultan Mehmed Waqf University in Istanbul. The talks will be held monthly by renowned international experts in Islamic codicology and manuscript studies, addressing scholars and the general audience alike.
