Wikithon: Wikipedia Content Development Marathon

Wikithon is an event where people come together to learn how to edit, improve and enrich Wikipedia. The Library's Wikithon will focus on editing and enriching Arabic and English pages on Qatari-themed topics including history, nature and culture. We invite all enthusiasts to come join this second edition of Wikithon at the Library.
For the Love of Qatar

Qatar National Library is pleased to present the poetry night ‘For the Love of Qatar.’ Distinguished poets Mohamad Yasin, Zainab Almahmood, Nasser Al-Wobair and Hamad Al-Braidi will recite poems in the Faseeh and Nabatiyeh poetry traditions. The evening is moderated by the creative presenter Saoud Al-Maadeed.

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. As part of Qatar National Day celebrations, the Library is pleased to invite you to a lecture by Professor Yousef Al-Abdullah and Mohammed Hammam. The lecture will cover the Turkish-British conflict over Qatar under the rule of Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammed (1876 – 1913) and the most important historical events of that period, including the Battle of Al Wajbah, a defining moment in the development of Qatar as a modern state.
