This workshop will cover the main features of Microsoft PowerPoint, such as how to create a new presentation from scratch, how to navigate PowerPoint's interface, how to change presentation themes and how to format slides. You will also learn different ways of saving and printing PowerPoint files.

We are pleased to invite you to attend a lecture by His excellency Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani. He will outline the qualitative shift of the State of Qatar as described in his book, Jassim the Leader: Founder of Qatar. His excellency will discuss the vision of the founder of Qatar, Sheikh Jassim Al Thani, and his legacy that enabled Qatar’s move to its modern economic strength.

Our Children and Books

Qatar National Library, in cooperation with the Steering Committee of the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding, will host a panel discussion titled 'Translation: A Message of Peace, a Bridge of Communication.' Instructors and translators from Qatar University and Al Jazeera Centre for Studies will talk about how translation can increase understanding between countries and cultures, bringing about a more peaceful world.

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. Come and enjoy a fun-filled storytelling session with your child using multi-sensory books. The session will consist of different multi-sensory experiences to engage and encourage children with disabilities to read.

Learn the origins of the Lego building bricks and how you can use the iconic blocks to learn techniques that you can apply to various experiences in your daily life. The session is organized by Qatar National Library and will be led by trainer Salah Al-Yafei, who will teach you lessons about teamwork and many other important skills.

In celebration of Qatar National Day, Qatar National Library, in collaboration with Al Gannas Society, is pleased to host 'Falconry in Qatar,' a workshop highlighting the importance of falconry through successive generations. This workshop will show how to prepare falcons for racing and hunting, and will feature a telwah, or hunting, demonstration around the Library. You will also have the opportunity to take a photo with a number of trained falcons.
