ALharthi’s novel, Celestial Bodies, is a story that sheds light on the social and economic transformations of life in Oman after the discovery of oil; and how these changes were reflected on the lives of three sisters who take the leading role in this novel. The Creative Writing Circle for Adults is an opportunity for creative writers to come together and share their work. The group provides inspiration, feedback and encouragement in a supportive environment. So whatever stage you’re at, come along and get writing!

By the end of this introductory information session, participants will have an understanding of what the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) writing tasks consist of and what examiners look for. They will learn about what the band descriptors are and how to apply them to the writing tasks. There will be time for a Q&A during the session, and recommended IELTS preparation materials which are available to Library members and IELTS candidates will be presented.
