A discussion about the gaps that people with disabilities might have in their knowledge about media literacy and communications technology. The speakers will be Khoulod Abu Sharida, a blind scriptwriter from Al Jazeera Children’s Network, and a representative from Qatar Social and Cultural Center. The development of Qatar’s cultural scene was decades in the making and initially began with individual home- and majlis-based initiatives. In the 1950s, however, these initiatives transformed into government structures. The Public Library of Al-Maaref was founded in 1954, followed by the establishment of Dar Al-Kutub in 1962.
