We are happy to collaborate with Qatari author Shamma Shahin Al-Kuwari to present a creative writing program. In this workshop, Shamma will talk about the art of writing novels, as well as the importance of time and space in writing. She will also try to answer questions such as: who dominates the characters and decides their roles? Can writing be used for ethical purposes? How can we reach creativity? How are endings written? In cooperation with the National Library of Algeria and in its role as the IFLA PAC Preservation and Conservation Center for Arab Countries and the Middle East, the Library invites you to an online lecture highlighting the National Library of Algeria's experience in studying manuscript watermarks, including how they are made, their purpose and their importance in dating manuscripts. The webinar will introduce the tools and techniques used to search for and examine watermarks.

In addition to its impact on the health of people worldwide, this pandemic has had catastrophic consequences for the global economy and affected the operation of businesses and organizations worldwide, including memory and cultural institutions. In this webinar, we will explore the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on libraries and museums, concentrating on the challenges that affected the management, preservation and conservation of their collections. Furthermore, we will highlight the importance of future planning for safeguarding collections by implementing preventive conservation policies and practices.
