Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Album for the Young (or Children's Album) consists of 24 short pieces composed in 1878 and dedicated to Tchaikovsky's favorite nephew. Originally for the piano, they will be performed in this concert using Gennady Krutikov's string quintet arrangement.

We are excited to host the launch of Qatari writer Jassim Al Mohannadi's first comic book, Primeval. Jassim will discuss his experience in writing a comic book, including the process of drafting the plot. He will also sign copies of the book.

We all love different things about Qatar. This is your chance to make your own unique collage picture frame that represents what Qatar means to you.

What is the red planet called? What about the one with the ring around it? Do you like rockets as much as we do? Then come to the Library wearing something that shows your love of space and listens to a story from the book A Rocket to Space. After the story, we'll make our own colorful miniature spaceships.

Did you know that chess improves memory, problem-solving and IQ? It's also a wonderful way to improve focus, flex those creativity muscles, and most important, kids have fun playing. Come to the Chess Club to learn the basics, make some friends and enjoy a little bit of competition.

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. Be sure to check out our collection of books on knitting and crochet while you’re here!

Abdullah likes to spend his money on toys and sweets. But could he put his money to better use? Author Jameela Sultan will read her book The Riyal’s Journey, in which a riyal comes to life and takes Abdullah on an adventurous journey around the world. He learns the value of money and how he can spend it in ways that help other people. We will discuss the book with Jameela after her reading.
