Since prehistoric times, writing has acted as a form of therapy, a hobby and a survival instinct. The neolithic drawings on the walls of Elba are the lessons that helped our ancestors to survive in difficult times. The Library is continuing this historic tradition of writing by creating time and space for you to express your thoughts and feelings using words.
Experiences of Children's Librarians in Qatar

This session features exchanges of experiences from children’s school librarians in Qatar. These rich experiences came because of years of study, research and practical work in school environments. We will also discuss policies to attract children to reading and ways to teach them how to choose the right books for their purposes, in addition to the balanced methods between virtual and real activities within libraries.

The Children’s library is happy to collaborate with our partners at Scholastic to provide an introductory session about three e-resources: BookFlix, Trueflix and Go. These sites, which are free for all Library members, help develop children's love of reading by presenting learning materials in a fun and entertaining manner that encourages exploration.

Students need to prepare to solve highly complex problems that require skills such as teamwork, solving problems, gathering research, time management, synthesizing information and using high-tech tools. Project-Based Learning (PBL) provides a framework for bringing these skills out in students. In this workshop, we'll explore PBL and how to make it possible in your learning context, whether at home or in the classroom.
