The Children’s library is happy to collaborate with our partners at Scholastic to provide an introductory session about three e-resources: BookFlix, Trueflix and Go. These sites, which are free for all Library members, help develop children's love of reading by presenting learning materials in a fun and entertaining manner that encourages exploration.

Learning facts and reciting them out of context isn't going to cut it anymore. Students need to prepare to solve highly complex problems that require skills such as teamwork, solving problems, gathering research, time management, synthesizing information and using high-tech tools. Project-Based Learning (PBL) provides a framework for bringing these skills out in students. In this workshop, we'll explore PBL and how to make it possible in your learning context, whether at home or in the classroom.

Join us for Online Storytime for Children on Mondays. We will read stories and make up our own together. 

Programming is now at the center of the digital era we live in, and it's needed in many different jobs. If you are 12 to 18 years old and you enjoy programming, join our Coding Club and challenge yourself to learn the basics of programming

Let’s grow our words from roots to leaves in our two-part Poet-Tree writing workshop. Children ages 8 to 12 will learn to write two different types of poems on a common theme. No previous poetry writing experience is required.

Being a passionate reader means that you have developed a love of reading. Join reading skills trainer Zubaida Faisal to learn how to strengthen your reading habits and ways to select books most suitable for you. 

Since prehistoric times, writing has acted as a form of therapy, a hobby and a survival instinct. The neolithic drawings on the walls of Elba are the lessons that helped our ancestors to survive in difficult times. The Library is continuing this historic tradition of writing by creating time and space for you to express your thoughts and feelings using words. 

Las Cumbres Observatory is a unique network of robotic telescopes used for scientific and educational projects by thousands of people around the world. In this workshop, we will talk about some of the scientific discoveries that have come from the observatory, including the detection of the first-ever kilonova astronomical event.

Did you know that chess improves memory, problem-solving, and IQ? It's also a wonderful way to improve focus, flex those creativity muscles, and most importantly, kids have fun playing.
