Digital Photography for Beginners

This course will teach basic photography skills, including parts of the camera and how to adjust its settings. Participants should attend all four sessions. Please bring your own camera. 
Hands-On Robotics Workshop

Learn about robotics by helping your child build a robot! In this hands-on workshop, participants will use a drag-and-drop learning approach to build a robot. No prior knowledge of coding is necessary. The workshop is designed for parents and their children to support family learning. This session is designed in collaboration with the London Academy STEM Education Center.

Weekly Knitting and Crochet Circle

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. Games Between Light and Shadow: A Project for Doha

Nature invented the first pinhole camera, and in this presention, we'll explore how light and shadow play on the ground and on walls to reveal images of the Sun and measure the passing of time. Based on these richly illustrated observations, we will propose a project to reveal live images of the sun on a selected wall in Doha, set near reflective and universal sundials. 
Light in Classical Music: Richard Strauss's "An Alpine Symphony"

Many composers have depicted light in their works, but few have done it with such overwhelming effect as Richard Strauss in his tone poem "An Alpine Symphony." Composed in 1915, the work follows the climb of an Alpine mountain from daybreak to nightfall.
