IYPT2019 Brief: - 1869 is considered as the year of discovery of the Periodic System by the Russian scientist, Dmitri Mendeleev. The IYPT 2019 also commemorates the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements. The United Nations General Assembly during its 74th Plenary Meeting proclaimed 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements (IYPT 2019) and adopted by the UNESCO General Conference at its 39th Session (39 C/decision 60). To recognize the importance of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements among school students, as one of the most important and influential achievements in modern science, Science India Forum-Qatar (SIFQ), is celebrating IYPT 2019 in collaboration with QF and TAMUQ for QF Schools & Indian Schools, as an International Event. Event mainly include- Road Show by TAMUQ, Inter School Competition on Periodic Table, Quiz, Address by Eminent Scholars on Periodic Table and Speeches by Guests of Honour.

November is National Novel Writing Month. Register at www.nanowrimo.org then join us each Saturday morning in November for encouragement. During this session, we will hear from author Juliet Lovering about finding the motivation to finish a novel. This session will be held in English with Arabic interpretation provided.

Clara Schumann (1819 – 1896) was a German pianist and composer who is considered one of the most influential musicians of the Romantic era. A child prodigy, she began touring at age 11 and continued to perform into her 70s. She was also a renowned piano teacher, and mentored Johannes Brahms early in his career. Her husband, Robert Schumann, was himself a noted composer.

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. In 2019, developments in culture, architecture and creative technology prompt us to revisit the evolving nature of art and the public realm in fast-developing cities. Join us as part of the Qatar British Festival's "Reading the City" program, in which FutureEverything’s Creative Director, Irini Papadimitriou, will host a panel discussion exploring different perspectives on public art and its relevance today. 

This practical session aims to teach the basics of how to search the wide variety of databases offered by the Library. We'll learn how to search using filters, Boolean operators, modifiers and keywords.
