Bookshare is an online database for people with print disabilities. It provides audiobooks, read-along books, DAISY talking books, and braille and large-font books. You can customize your reading experience with ebooks in formats that work according to your needs. This event will help you find resources on Bookshare and register for membership

Open Access Week 2019: Open for Whom?

The theme of this year’s International Open Access Week is “Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge,” which aims to explore the question of how inclusive open access and open knowledge are. Speakers will discuss the benefits of open access to Qatar's research ecosystem. Attendees will also be invited to share their thoughts on how we can collaborate with national and international stakeholders to open up access to our scientific and cultural heritage.

Emotionally and mentally drained because you can’t find the information you need for your research?Postgraduate work is tough, but with a little help from your fellow PhD students, you can survive it. Our informal postgraduate peer support network (P2SN) for aspiring and current postgraduate students is an opportunity to exchange information and knowledge, share expertise, and provide each other intellectual and emotional support.
Floating Graphics with Koichi Yamamoto

Japanese-born artist Koichi Yamamoto presents two lectures about his work, which merges traditional and contemporary approaches to printmaking and creates innovative approaches to the language of the art. It is his exploration and mastery of the complex process of engraving that raises his art to an extraordinary level in printmaking. Yamamoto will share his ideas and motivation, as well as how locations and situations influenced his work. Looking back his 30 years of print work, he will summarize evolution of format, method and learning processes. The master printmaker, internationally known for his complex engravings, will also talk about his recent focus on functional forms and intaglio printed kite art at Qatar National Library.
