Join us on a journey through the evolution of Italian opera from Bel Canto to the emergence of a new operatic style known as Verismo (Realism), epitomized by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini and Pietro Mascagni. Concert performer, conductor, musicologist and journalist Adriano Bassi will share stories of famous Italian composers and play some of their most famous arias on the piano as we learn about Italian operatic traditions.
