In celebration of World Book Day, the Library, in cooperation with the Qatar Literacy Initiative, invites you to a critical lecture, “Textual Threshold Discourse in Qatari Novels.” This lecture discusses the idea and concept of text thresholds in novels, considered one of the most important critical research tools in literature.

The IFLA Preservation and Conservation Regional Center for Arab and Middle East countries at Qatar National Library is organizing the workshop "Various Greens in Persian Paintings with Reference to Copper Green Verdigris and its Deterioration and Stabilization". The workshop will be conducted by Mandana Barkeshli.

Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Rabindranath Tagore (d.1941) one of the most influential Bengali poets and the first Asian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. The literary and cultural world feels that Tagore’s influence can be felt more in these tumultuous times than in his own time and his relevance is not restricted to India but beyond. This lecture will focus on Tagore’s view on nationalism and how is it pertinent in the current age of hyper-nationalism and cultural chauvinism. In addition to the lecture, there will be a recitation of his soul touching poetry.

In this lecture, Jawad Nachet, a scholar in pedagogy and psychology, will define the terminology of solidarity and coexistence from a human rights perspectives and explore how to find yourself in others in order to sympathize with them.
