Join this casual gathering of knitters and crocheters every Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 am to work on projects and share skills in a friendly atmosphere. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies and projects or to borrow the Library’s needles and yarn. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners who are interested in learning. Science has the power to unite people and break down barriers. The Science Book Forum hosts Dr. Richard O'Kennedy, Qatar Foundation Vice President for Research, Development and Innovation, to discuss the role of science as a driver for peace in difficult times and as a powerful tool in shaping national identity. Dr. Kennedy will address the need for more scientists and their role in building peace where politics have failed. He will also discuss the role of students and teachers in this process. The forum will include a presentation on the role of scientists such as Einstein, Bohr and von Braun during World War II. The audience is encouraged to ask questions and share their experiences as well.
